Integrate PhoneWagon with Google Analytics

Do you track your web visitors and sources of traffic with Google Analytics? As you know, Google Analytics gives you insight into how your visitors find and interact with your website. Wouldn’t it be great if you could also view data for offline sources like customer calls, directly in your Google Analytics dashboard? PhoneWagon has this capability! How To Setup Google Analytics Integration

Step 1: Create a phone call goal in Google Analytics account

  • Select the correct Account and Property where you want to create the goal. Then click Goals under “All Website Data”

  • Click “+ New Goal” to setup a new goal

  • In “Goal Setup” window click “Custom” and then “Continue”

  • Under Goal Description, use “Phone Calls” for the name field and select “Event” for the type. Click “Continue”

  • Under Goal Details and Event Conditions, set Category Equals to PhoneCalls (the category has to be spelled exactly PhoneCalls or it won’t track the calls), click Save to Save a goal.

If you only set this condition for goal then all calls are tracked as goal conversions under goal name you created.

 

Note: “Greater than” value set up is minimum call duration in minutes (e.i. only count calls greater than '30' seconds.

  • Now you can view your Phone Calls goal alongside your other goals:

Step 2: Configure Google Analytics in PhoneWagon

Now that you have setup your phone call goals in Google Analytics, you need to integrate your Google Analytics account to your PhoneWagon account.

  • On the Home PhoneWagon page select a company which you are going to integrate with Analytics

  • Go to Company Settings and click Google Analytics picture:

  • Enter your Google Analytics Tracking ID and Tracking Domain (your website) and then click Activate Integration button:

Now the integration process is complete!  

Phone calls will start showing up on the created goal (PhoneCalls) in your Google Analytics account.

 

Step 3: View your calls in Google Analytics

Once your goal has started receiving calls, you can view your calls data in Google Analytics under Top Events.

  • In the left menu, select Behavior. Then click Events, and choose Top Events:

  • When you click Top Events, the results should look like this

  • If you want to see more information about calls, click PhoneCalls under the Event Category column

  • In the Event Action column, click on the call to view details on the caller

Goals with Different Event Conditions 

PhoneWagon creates conversions for 3 type of goals:

  1. Conversions for All Calls;
  2. Conversions for “FirstTimeCaller”;
  3. Conversions for “RepeatCaller”.

Conversion for 'All Calls'

To create conversions for all calls you need to create goal with below event conditions :

  • Category Equals to PhoneCalls (Category must be PhoneCalls otherwise we are not able to track calls)

If you only set this condition for goal then all calls are tracked as goal conversion under goal name you created.

Conversions for 'FirstTimeCaller'

To create conversions only for first time caller calls you need to create goal with following event conditions:

  • Set Category -> Equals to -> PhoneCalls
  • Set Label -> Regular expression -> FirstTimeCaller
  • Value is optional, If you set Value condition to some value then calls with duration greater than that value consider as goal.

For this type of goal, conversion are created, If all these event conditions (Category, Label, value if any) are satisfied.

Conversions for 'RepeatCaller'

To creates conversions only for Repeat caller calls you need to create goal with following event conditions:

  • Set Category -> Equals to -> PhoneCalls
  • Set Label -> Regular expression -> RepeatCaller
  • Value is optional, If you set Value condition to some value then calls with duration greater than that value consider as goal.

For this type of goal, conversions are created, if all event conditions (Category, Label, value if any) are satisfied.
